Brett Thomas, Brewmaster

Our Head Brewer Brett Thomas grew up in the Sandhills region of North Carolina and found a love for the people and tight knit community. His family moved to Greensboro in 2010 and he was first introduced to the world of brewing in 2016 when he started homebrewing. He found success in this throughout the years and even had one of the recipes that he designed recreated at a local brewery in Greensboro as a “homebrew spotlight”. Brett would later gain invaluable experience working at Beech Mountain Brewing Co. in 2021 as the assistant brewer while still in school. In 2022 he would return to the Sandhills with a formal education in brewing sciences from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fermentation Sciences and a minor in Chemistry to come to Mash House as the head brewer. Brett continues to bring a fresh perspective and innovation to the rich, community focused heritage that Mash House has grown over more than 20 years in business.

Tony Davis, Executive Chef

Our Executive Chef, Tony Davis, was born and raised in New York City and relocated to North Carolina in 2009. He shares a love of culinary arts with his father and chose to explore his passion by joining the Mash House team in 2011. Tony began as an oven baker and worked his way up to sous chef in 2016. After his father passed away, Tony took a short leave of absence before returning to become our Executive Chef. Tony is well known for his incredible and creative cheesecakes and dinner features. He leads by example with a team of passionate cooks beside him, delivering hand-cut steaks and scratch-made recipes for our customers on each visit.

Amanda “Mannie” Rivera – Private Dining Coordinator

Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Amanda started her hospitality journey as a 17-year-old host at one of Cleveland’s top fine dining restaurants. With no experience she became a sponge, soaking up all the position had to offer. Her bubbly personality and personable attitude made an impersonal experience for each guest who walked through the doors. After two years, she became a server, which only furthered her admiration for the industry. Working under one of Cleveland’s top event coordinators, Amanda started serving private events. Everything from birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, to company functions and cocktail events. This is where her true passion for the hospitality industry began. She loved the idea of contributing to something important, making a guest’s experience not only great, but memorable. At 21 years old, Amanda was seeking adventure when an opportunity presented itself. She moved to Fayetteville, NC in the summer of 2018. After moving to NC, Amanda needed to secure work. Mash House Brewing Company was on the top of her list prior to moving and is the only place she applied to. Being one of three Amanda’s employed at Mash House, she needed a nickname. Amanda became Mannie. Never having a nickname prior to this, she decided to take her father’s. September of 2018 through March of 2021, Mannie was a server/bartender at Mash House Brewing Company when opportunity struck again. In April of 2021, Mannie became our event manager and has overseen hundreds of events at Mash House. Working hands- on with her clients to ensure they have the best event possible. Six years later Mannie is working proudly in a position she has always admired, engaged and soon to be married to her best partner in life, she enjoys painting and cooking in her free time, along with snuggling up to her four fur babies. She thanks her father for her success today, knowing he is looking down on her, just as proud as she is.
